The 1996 Fondillón, “Wherever You Are,” is a 20-year-old wine, aged with tremendous patience in century-old American wild oak barrels after extracting the finest essence from overripe Monastrell grapes from old vines. Its provocative aroma and persistent flavor make time stand still, allowing us to fully appreciate the pleasure of the present moment.

Nose: A very powerful, classic nose, with an exuberant aroma of aged Monastrell, centuries-old American oak, and very old, wild oak.
Palate: Honeyed notes. The touches are finely smoky and saline, always returning to the notes of an old sacristy and antique woods, with very pleasant hints of toffee, coffee, tobacco, carob, fig bread, and toasted almonds. Moderately raisin-like, with notes of caramel and mocha. A pleasant, not very sweet but smooth, and initially acidic and slightly fiery. It moves calmly across the mid-palate, offering notes of caramel and sherry, hints of dried fruit and raisins that complement its dryness, and a great length that makes the wine linger on the palate. Its flavor is captivating and invites you to taste more.
