Fondillón from Alicante is a unique wine in the world, and with this edition of Laudum Fondillón Gran Solera 1994, Bocopa pays homage to that age-old tradition that only a few producers keep alive.
Our Fondillón comes from overripe Monastrell grapes, harvested at their optimal point of concentration to express all the character of the Mediterranean.
It ages slowly in oak barrels within a Gran Solera system, from which only a small portion is drawn each year for bottling, thus preserving the essence of the original 1994 wine.
Each bottle is a reflection of time and the expertise passed down from generation to generation. A unique wine, with character, balance, and a depth that only years can provide.
Appearance: Bright mahogany color with amber highlights that hint at its aromatic richness and long evolution.
Nose: Deep and enveloping aromas, with notes of ripe and dried fruit, such as figs, dates, apricots, and plums, intertwined with liqueur-like nuances of cherries in liqueur and hints of cocoa, hazelnut, and blond tobacco. Complex and expressive, it invites you to linger over every nuance.
Palate: Very well-balanced on the palate. Its entry is elegant and silky; the natural residual sugar is perfectly balanced with the acidity, making it fresh and not at all cloying. It has a very long and persistent finish, where the dried fruits, liqueur notes, and toasted aromas leave a very pleasant sensation.
